The Bay of Islands is one of New Zealand's major tourist attractions. I had already been there during a trip over Easter but unfortunately I lost all the pictures I took then so that I decided to return.
I spent the first day kayaking on a river and went on a cruise in the bay on the second day. The trip combined dolphin watching with a look at a place called "Hole in the rock" - the name really pretty much says it all. It's an island that has an arch in it. Wind permitting the boat will actually navigate through the hole but we caught a windy afternoon so that we only reversed into it for a quick foto and then left again.
