After 5 runs on the Luge and enjoying the view over Queenstown and the surrounding lakes for a while we packed up our stuff and started our journey to Milford sound.

We quickly stopped in Te Anau and reserved a cruise on Milford Sound for the next day. Our original plan was to drive most of the 120km to Milford Sound this day, camp somewhere along the road on a camp site and then travel the rest of the distance the next day.

Well, even though the panorama with its ocean of flowers was beautiful as ever, the sandflies were not. So we decided to head back to Te Anau and spend the night in a holiday park with hopefully less of these little black devils around.
